About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and detail-focused Warehouse Assistant to join our night shift operation in Hilsea. This is a permanent, full-time lone-worker role supporting the safe and accurate handling of freight for onward movement to the Channel Islands.
You will be responsible for accepting incoming deliveries, checking freight against pre-alerted volumes, recording information accurately, labelling and segregating goods, and ensuring a clear handover to the day shift team.
Key Responsibilities
- Accept incoming night-shift deliveries and check freight against expected volumes.
- Segregate, label and prepare freight for onward shipment to the Channel Islands.
- Enter delivery and freight details accurately into the warehouse management system.
- Maintain clear manual records and complete basic administrative tasks where required.
- Work safely and independently as the lone worker during the night shift.
- Liaise with delivery agents to hand back returned goods accurately and on time.
- Provide a clear handover to the day shift team, including any outstanding workload.
About You
- Previous warehouse, logistics or freight-handling experience is desirable.
- Reliable, trustworthy and confident working independently overnight.
- Strong attention to detail when checking volumes, entering data and labelling goods.
- Comfortable using computers; Microsoft Office experience is desirable.
- Able to follow warehouse processes and keep accurate records.
- Good communication skills and a practical, organised approach to work.
