JCP Hardware is an established supplier of replacement door and window hardware, supplying customers throughout the UK through our website and online marketplaces.
We operate from our premises in Pool, Redruth, where our warehouse team receives stock and prepares customer orders for despatch across the UK.
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, organised and practical Warehouse Operative to join our small warehouse team.
This is a varied, hands-on role covering goods-in, stock control, picking, packing and returns. You will help ensure products are received, stored, processed and despatched accurately and efficiently.
You will use the Linnworks warehouse management system, handheld barcode scanners and label printers throughout the working day.
Previous warehouse experience is preferred. However, full training will be provided on our systems, equipment and warehouse processes.
As you become familiar with the role, you will also be trained to identify and resolve common day-to-day equipment and system issues, such as scanners or printers going offline, label printer problems and virtual printer errors.
Main Responsibilities
Your duties will include:
- Receiving, unloading and checking deliveries
- Booking stock into the warehouse accurately
- Labelling products and placing them into the correct bin locations
- Using Linnworks to complete picking, stock movement and warehouse tasks
- Using handheld barcode scanners to pick orders and transfer stock
- Picking and packing customer orders accurately
- Printing product, address and shipping labels
- Processing customer returns
- Scanning products and updating stock movements
- Completing warehouse paperwork and system updates accurately
- Carrying out regular stock checks
- Identifying and resolving basic scanner, label printer and virtual printer issues
- Escalating more complex system or equipment problems when required
- Assisting with the loading and unloading of vans and delivery vehicles
- Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy, organised and safe
- Supporting other members of the warehouse team when required
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday: 7:30am–3:30pm
Friday: 8:00am–3:30pm
There is a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day.
This is a permanent daytime position with no regular evening or weekend shifts.
About You
Previous warehouse experience is preferred, particularly experience in picking, packing, stock control, goods-in or order fulfilment.
We are looking for someone with a dependable attitude, good attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a warehouse, stockroom, fulfilment or similar environment
- Experience picking and packing customer orders
- Good basic numeracy skills
- Basic computer literacy
- Good attention to detail
- A reliable and organised approach to work
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to follow processes accurately
- The ability to work effectively as part of a small team
- A practical approach to solving straightforward problems
- The confidence to use initiative when appropriate
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- A commitment to providing good service to our customers
Experience using Linnworks or another warehouse management system would be advantageous but is not essential.
Experience using handheld barcode scanners, label printers or warehouse printing systems would also be beneficial.
Physical Requirements
The role involves standing, walking, bending and regular manual handling throughout the working day.
