Junior Sous Chef — Marjorie’s, Soho
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Junior Sous Chef to join our kitchen team at Marjorie’s. Due to the size of the kitchen, this role requires someone comfortable working across different sections, supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef, and helping lead the team through service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Sous Chef and Head Chef in running the kitchen day-to-day
- Running and overseeing different sections as required
- Preparing and cooking dishes to menu standards
- Working flexibly across hot, cold and prep sections
- Helping maintain high standards of hygiene, organisation and food safety
- Assisting with stock control, ordering and prep planning
- Supporting menu development as the seasonal menu evolves
- Leading by example and contributing to a positive kitchen culture
- Performing well under pressure during busy services
About Marjorie’s
Marjorie’s is a Parisian-inspired wine bar and modern French restaurant located just off Carnaby Street in Soho. We focus on seasonal produce, French techniques, and well-executed, flavour-driven dishes served in a relaxed but busy environment.
The restaurant is intimate, fast-paced and quality-driven with a menu that changes regularly, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, consistency and respect for ingredients. We work with some of the best British and French suppliers in the country and aim to keep the food seasonal, French and full of character.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef, or strong Senior CDP ready to step up
- Good knowledge of kitchen operation and food safety standards
- Interest in modern French/European cooking
- Strong work ethic, reliability and leadership qualities
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
What we offer:
- £41,000–£45,000 per year, including TRONC
- 4-day working week (3 doubles, 1 single)
