We are seeking an experienced portfolio manager/ research analyst to join our central Bristol office. Providing a professional, high-quality service to our clients. An important role in a small team, which is dynamic and varied.
The role:
- Working within Alpha’s investment team managing portfolios and maintaining and developing underlying relationships, as well as being a key member of the investment committee.
- Full-time. Monday to Friday. Typically, 7.30am to 4.30pm (one hour lunch break).
- Permanent position. 40 hours per week.
- This is an office-based role. BS1 / Bristol Temple Meads location with good transport links.
Main responsibilities:
- The role will be a varied one working with Alpha’s investment team in the management of portfolios on a day-to-day basis as well as being a key member of the team from the perspective of portfolio positioning and the generation of new ideas and monitoring our core investment list.
- Provide input into Alpha’s investment process, through daily updates, alongside more formal weekly and monthly meetings.
- Maintain and develop existing and new relationships with clients and third parties.
The ideal candidate:
- Must have demonstrable experience as a portfolio manager/ research analyst of at least 5 years, preferably 7 to 10 years, as well as a strong understanding of fundamental analysis.
- Our core list is broad, but the candidate must have experience of researching individual UK companies.
- Must be fully qualified for the role (at least level 4 qualified)
- Existing client relationships to introduce to the business would be beneficial.
- Ability to put forward timely and well communicated investment recommendations.
- Appropriate computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Confident with excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with rigorous attention to detail.
- Diligent, hardworking and friendly.
- An ability to work under pressure and to deadlines, effectively prioritising workload.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt to changing processes or situations.
Package:
- Offering £45,000- £65,000, depending on experience and existing relationships.
- Plus, annual discretionary bonus.
