At Apex Plumbing, Heating & Mechanical Services Ltd, we're a growing mechanical contractor delivering high-quality commercial and domestic plumbing, heating and mechanical services across the UK.
Our work ranges from domestic boiler installations and servicing through to large commercial plant rooms, schools, industrial facilities, office refurbishments, air source heat pump installations, commercial gas systems, maintenance contracts and reactive breakdowns.
Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Plumbing, Heating & Gas Engineer to join our team.
This role is ideally suited to someone who wants more than just another engineering position. We're looking for someone who wants to become part of the business and has the ambition to progress into an Operations Manager role in the near future.

The Role
You'll be responsible for carrying out a wide variety of plumbing, heating and gas works across both commercial and domestic projects.
No two days are the same. One week you could be installing a commercial plant room or air source heat pump system, and the next carrying out boiler replacements, maintenance, servicing or reactive works within domestic properties.
Typical duties include:
- Commercial and domestic plumbing installations
- Commercial and domestic heating installations
- Commercial and domestic gas installations, servicing and repairs (Gas Safe desirable)
- Boiler installations and replacements
- Air source heat pump installations and commissioning
- Commercial plant room installations and modifications
- Pipework installation in copper, carbon steel and stainless steel
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Reactive maintenance and breakdowns
- Fault finding and diagnostics
- Working from drawings and specifications
- Supervising apprentices and subcontractors where required
- Liaising directly with clients, consultants and site managers
- Completing commissioning records, service reports and quality documentation
- Ensuring all work is completed safely, professionally and to the highest standard

What We're Looking ForEssential
- Minimum 5 years' experience within the plumbing and heating industry
- Strong commercial installation experience
- Experience carrying out domestic plumbing and heating works
- Excellent fault-finding abilities
- Experience working on commercial heating systems and plant rooms
- Ability to read drawings and specifications
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Professional attitude with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
- Domestic Gas Safe qualifications
- Commercial Gas qualifications (COCN1, CODNCO1, ICPN1, TPCP1A etc.)
- Air Source Heat Pump experience
- Welding and fabrication experience but not essential
- IPAF
- PASMA
- SSSTS or SMSTS
- Experience with BMS controls and commissioning
Pay: £40,000.00-£52,000.00 per year
