Part-Time Female Housekeeper – Family Home

About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, efficient and proactive female housekeeper to provide household support to a family of four – mum, dad and two young children – in their family home in Luton, LU2.
The main purpose of the role is to take responsibility for keeping the family home clean, tidy and organised, allowing the mother to focus her time and attention on caring for the children.
This is not a childcare role. The successful candidate's main responsibility will be the day-to-day cleaning, organisation and general upkeep of the family home.
Main Responsibilities
Duties will include:
- General cleaning throughout the home
- Vacuuming, mopping, dusting and cleaning surfaces
- Cleaning and maintaining the kitchen and bathrooms
- Keeping rooms clean, tidy and organised
- Washing, drying, folding and organising clothes and household laundry
- Changing bedding when required
- Keeping household areas organised and free from unnecessary clutter
- Basic food preparation and preparing simple family meals when required
- Identifying household tasks that need completing and using your own initiative to complete them
- Maintaining a consistently good standard of cleanliness throughout the home

Previous experience in housekeeping, domestic cleaning or a similar role is desirable.
Hours and Pay
The normal working hours are:
Monday to Friday, 10:30am–1:30pm
3 hours per day / 15 hours per week
The hourly rate is £15.00 per hour, equivalent to £45.00 for each 3-hour shift worked.
The role will normally operate for approximately 46 weeks of the year. There will be approximately 6 weeks during school holiday periods when the housekeeping service is not required.
Payment will be based on the hours worked. Any statutory holiday entitlement and holiday pay will be managed in accordance with applicable employment legislation.
Female Occupational Requirement
Due to the nature of this position within a private family home and the family's religious observance and privacy requirements, this role is open to female applicants only.
The successful candidate will regularly work within the family's private living environment while the mother and young children are at home. The female-only requirement is necessary to maintain the mother's privacy, dignity and ability to observe her religious practices comfortably within her own home.
This requirement is applied as an occupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010.
