Your responsibilities include:
- Operating machines and furnaces that apply heat treatments to clean, harden, temper, and surface finish metal and make it ready for use in products
- Setting and adjusting Furnace temperatures and times according to specifications
- Working from engineering drawings to meet customer specifications
- Using manual measuring equipment i.e., micrometre, verniers, and gauges
Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate:
- Previous engineering/manufacturing background
- Experience in using heat treatment machines, surface finishing equipment, ovens, furnaces or similar machinery
- Comfortable working with chemicals
- Excellent attention to detail and able to learn processes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and follow technical instructions
- Use of manual measuring equipment to check products meet customer specifications
- Self-motivated and confident in working with minimal supervision
- Good communications skills
