Dispatch Operative
Location: Peake Fruit, Ardleigh
Pay: £14.25 per hour
Working Hours: Hours worked between 7:00am and 8:00pm, with flexibility to work later when required to meet business needs.
Peake Fruit is looking for a reliable and hardworking Dispatch Operative to join our team in Ardleigh.
This is an active role, with approximately 60% manual handling and 40% Counterbalance Forklift work. The successful candidate will play an important part in ensuring goods are picked, packed, checked and dispatched accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Picking and packing fruit and other goods accurately and efficiently.
- Loading and unloading lorries safely and within required timeframes.
- Operating a Counterbalance Forklift as part of the dispatch operation.
- Completing goods-in and goods-out duties.
- Checking incoming and outgoing deliveries.
- Ensuring orders are prepared and ready for dispatch within specified timeframes.
- Moving stock safely around the warehouse and dispatch areas.
- Carrying out regular manual handling as part of the day-to-day role.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Following all company health and safety procedures.
- Working as part of a team to ensure customer orders and deliveries are completed on time.
About You

- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Comfortable with regular manual handling
- Able to work efficiently to deadlines and within set timeframes.
- Confident working in a busy warehouse and dispatch environment.
- Able to follow instructions and work well as part of a team.
- Flexible regarding working hours, including the possibility of working later when business needs require.
- Safety-conscious and committed to maintaining high standards of workplace safety.
- Experienced in warehouse, dispatch or logistics work is desirable.
A valid Counterbalance Forklift licence is an advantage, but it is not essential, as full in-house training will be provided to the successful candidate.
Own transport is essential due to the location and working hours.
