We are looking for an ambitious and passionate Trainee Registered Manager to join our brand-new 2-bedded children's residential home in Burton upon Trent (DE14).
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced residential childcare professional who is ready to progress into a Registered Manager role. You will work alongside an experienced leadership team, receiving the guidance, support, and development needed to achieve OFSTED registration and successfully lead your own home.

About the Home
Our newly established 2-bed home has been thoughtfully designed to provide a warm, comfortable and therapeutic environment for children and young people. The smaller setting allows for genuinely individualised care, stronger relationships, and better outcomes for the young people who live there.
You'll have the opportunity to shape the culture of the home from the very beginning, helping to build a service that is centred on high-quality care, stability and positive experiences.
The Role
As Trainee Registered Manager, you will support the development and day-to-day management of the home while working towards becoming the Registered Manager.
You will:
- Support the opening and ongoing development of the home.
- Lead, motivate and develop a dedicated staff team.
- Promote a positive, child-centred culture.
- Ensure the home operates in line with the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
- Support safeguarding, care planning and risk management.
- Build positive relationships with local authorities, professionals and families.
- Prepare for and work towards successful OFSTED registration.
- Drive continuous improvement and excellent outcomes for children.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience working within a children's residential care setting.
- Experience in a senior role such as Deputy Manager, Team Leader or Senior Residential Support Worker.
- Good understanding of the Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and safeguarding.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
Desirable:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete).
- Experience preparing for OFSTED inspections.
- Previous involvement in opening or developing a children's home.
