Job Description: After school Childcare
Location: Poole, Dorset
Hours: Approx. 12-20 hours over 4–5 days per week
Additional: Occasional Saturday cover by prior arrangement
Start Date: 3-5 weeks time
Overview:
We are a warm, welcoming family based in Poole seeking a reliable, caring, and proactive Childcare Professional to support our 8-year-old son after school, from 3:15 pm to 6:00 pm. The role involves school drop-offs and pick-ups (optional addition from 8:00 am to 9:00 am) transport to extracurricular activities, light household duties, and basic meal preparation. There is also the potential to expand into additional administrative duties, depending on your interests and availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- School pick-up (must have own car and full driving licence) from a school in Poole.
- Supervise and engage with our child after school, supporting play, reading, and homework
- Transport to and from after-school activities as needed
- Prepare simple meals/snacks
- Light household tasks (e.g., tidying, dishes)
- Provide occasional Saturday or late evening care, if possible, with prior notice
Requirements:
- Previous childcare experience (formal or informal)
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain)
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle
- Trustworthy, organised, and positive in nature
- Ability to build a warm and engaging relationship with children
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable:
- First aid training
- Previous childcare experience
- Interest or experience in administrative or PA work (optional)
