Summary
The governors of Slyne-with-Hest St Luke's CEPS are looking to appoint a caring, dedicated and hard working teaching assistant to join our friendly school team, recently praised by Ofsted (March 2026) The successful candidate will work alongside the class teacher to best meet the needs of the children in the allocated class. The leadership team are currently looking at teaching assistant allocations for 26-27 and will take note of the experience and skills of the person appointed in deciding where best to place them. Initially it will be in either KS1 or KS2. We are looking for a TA who is organised and efficient in getting tasks done and also has a nurturing manner with the children that balances well between friendliness and clear expectations in terms of behaviour and learning. Appropriate CPD for the role will be provided. We can offer a friendly village school with motivated and well-behaved children, supportive and friendly staff in a lovely indoor and outdoor environment.
We are moving towards a staffing structure whether teaching assistants also have a lunchtime responsibility. Whilst that is not required in this role at present, a willingness to support the purposeful running of lunchtimes would be an advantage and may be requested in years to come.
All elements of the role are paid at L2b with any planned cover for the teacher paid at a higher rate.
Please note that in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025, an online search will be carried out as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.
