About Us
Sabatini Exeter is a well-established and busy Italian restaurant committed to delivering outstanding food, service, and hospitality. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, and experienced Restaurant Supervisor to join our team and help lead our front-of-house operation.
This is a permanent, year-round position and is not suitable for seasonal applicants. We are seeking someone who can commit to long-term employment and has flexibility to work varying hours, including evenings, weekends, and peak trading periods.
The Role
As Restaurant Supervisor, you will support the management team in the day-to-day running of the restaurant, ensuring exceptional customer service, high operational standards, and a positive working environment for the team.
You will lead by example, motivate staff, and help deliver an outstanding guest experience while maintaining company standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate front-of-house operations during service.
- Lead, motivate, and support restaurant team members.
- Deliver excellent customer service and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Handle customer feedback, complaints, and queries professionally.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Coach and develop staff to maintain high performance standards.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Manage daily service flow and allocate duties effectively.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the restaurant.
- Ensure health and safety regulations are followed at all times.
- Support food hygiene and food safety compliance.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with stock ordering and inventory management.
- Minimise waste and help control costs.
- Process cash handling procedures and end-of-day reconciliations where required.
- Liaise effectively with kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service.
- Support promotional activities and upselling initiatives.
- Maintain a positive, professional, and team-focused culture.
- Act as a key holder and responsible person on duty when required.
Skills and Experience Essential
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hospitality, or food service environment.
- Experience supervising or leading a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organisational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude.
- Availability to work throughout the year.
Desirable
- Experience in a supervisory or management role within a restaurant.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
- Experience with EPOS systems and cash handling.
