Operations Manager
Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire
Salary: £40,000-£45,000 (depending on experience)
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, organised and commercially aware Operations Manager to become a key member of our management team.
This is not an administration role. It is an opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and ensuring a business operates efficiently behind the scenes.
Working directly alongside the Managing Director, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operational administration of the business, maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring suppliers, accountants and external organisations receive the information they need on time.
We are looking for someone who is proactive, highly organised and capable of managing multiple priorities without constant supervision.
Key ResponsibilitiesSage & Financial Management
You will take full ownership of Sage and be responsible for ensuring the company's accounting records remain accurate, organised and fully up to date.
This includes:
- Full day-to-day management of Sage.
- Posting purchase invoices and credits.
- Supplier statement reconciliations.
- Bank reconciliations.
- Investigating and resolving account discrepancies.
- Maintaining accurate supplier balances.
- Ensuring all financial records are always accountant-ready.
This is a key part of the role and previous Sage experience is essential.
Supplier Management
- Manage supplier accounts and relationships.
- Request and reconcile supplier statements.
- Chase outstanding credit notes.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Investigate pricing and account queries.
- Prepare weekly supplier payment schedules and supporting information for approval.
- Ensure supplier records remain accurate and organised.
Accountant & HMRC
- Liaise directly with the company's accountants.
- Prepare all information requested throughout the year.
- Deal with HMRC correspondence.
- Assist with VAT, PAYE and year-end requirements.
- Maintain organised financial records and supporting documentation.
Operations
- Coordinate maintenance contractors and service providers.
- Manage utilities and office administration.
- Ensure important deadlines are met.
- Maintain organised business records.
- Follow outstanding matters through to completion.
- Keep management informed of progress and outstanding actions.
The Person
We're looking for someone who naturally takes ownership.
Someone who enjoys solving problems, following tasks through to completion and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.
You should have:
- Strong Sage experience (essential).
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Previous experience in operations, finance or business administration.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Confidence dealing with suppliers, accountants and HMRC.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail.
- A proactive and professional approach.
