Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Childcare Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. Duties
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, emotional, and social development.
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, rest periods, and organised activities to ensure safety at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organised environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, behaviour, and any concerns.
- Support children's individual needs through personalised care plans and behavioural guidance.
- Assist in the organisation of educational programmes and nursery routines.
- Manage daily administrative tasks related to childcare records and documentation.
- Lead by example in demonstrating management and leadership skills within the team.
- Ensure compliance with all childcare policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Occasionally provide transportation for children as required, subject to holding a valid driving licence.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood education setting.
- Must hold Nvq2 or higher
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of childcare best practices, early childhood development theories, and nursery experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under supervision.
