Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Telehandler Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating telehandlers safely and efficiently on-site, assisting with material handling for a brickwork company.
We are a family based brickwork company generally working on private building sites with repeat clients.
Most of your time will be spent operating the tele handler and in between we expect you to help with the day to day responsibilities of labouring for bricklayers
Responsibilities
- Operate telehandlers to lift, move, and position materials accurately across the site and at each scaffold lift stage.
- Conduct daily safety checks and routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Assist with loading and unloading materials from lorries or storage areas.
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times to maintain a secure working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks efficiently and meet project deadlines.
- Keep the site tidy when not operating tele handler.
- Help mix mortar.
- Help load out bricks manually.
Skills
- Proven experience in operating telehandlers in a construction or industrial setting
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues and perform basic repairs
- Valid certification for operating telehandlers (e.g., CPCS or NPORS)
- Experience with commercial driving, including handling large vehicles safely
- Good organisational skills with the ability to follow safety protocols diligently
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- Experience mixing mortar and help loading out bricks manually advantageous but not essential.
- Driving license and vehicle to get to and from work are mandatory for this roll.
