Grounds Maintenance Team Leader
Aire & Calder Ltd (Northern Greenscapes) is looking to recruit a very special Grounds Maintenance Team Leader to help us deliver our top quality grounds care to our clients across the North of England.
As an experienced and enthusiastic Team Leader you will take responsibility for a newly established team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in delivering a high standard of work and, importantly, enjoys helping others develop their skills and confidence.
As Team Leader, you will play a key role in establishing the new team, leading by example and helping to develop our trainees through practical, hands-on experience. You will have the opportunity to upskill and mentor trainees, passing on your knowledge and helping them progress within our business.
You will be responsible for leading the team on a variety of landscaping and garden maintenance projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supervising a small team on a day-to-day basis.
- Carrying out general garden maintenance and landscaping work.
- Supporting and training less experienced team members and trainees.
- Helping trainees develop practical skills and work towards greater responsibility.
- Organising daily workloads and ensuring jobs are completed efficiently.
- Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with company health and safety procedures.
- Maintaining tools, machinery and equipment in good working order.
- Communicating with the management team regarding progress, materials and any issues arising on site.
- Setting a positive example in terms of work ethic, professionalism, safety and customer service.
- Helping to build and develop a successful new team as the company continues to grow.
You will be a self motivated professional committed to delivering the highest standards of grounds care to your clients. You will have a good eye for detail and be happy to go the extra mile where needed. Your clients will notice the difference that you make and compliments will be a normal part of your working day.
You will of course be fully experienced in a similar role with suitable qualifications including PA1 and PA6 minimum. You will be experienced in the use of all normal power tools associated with this role as well as the larger equipment such as Scag's, Ferris and Gang Mowers.
You will have a full UK valid driving licence. This position will require the towing of trailers.

This position will be working out of our premises in Mirfield to various client sites. Applicants will need their own transport to get to and from our premises for work each day as we are not located on a bus route.
Due to our work on schools successful applicants may need to undergo a full DBS check.
