Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, professional, self-employed, multi-drop Delivery Driver/Courier to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring customer satisfaction. This role requires excellent driving skills, organisational abilities, and effective communication. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on punctuality and service quality.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including vans or lorries, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Plan efficient delivery routes to meet deadlines and optimise fuel consumption.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
- Deliver packages or goods to customers in a timely and professional manner.
- Obtain signatures or proof of delivery as required, maintaining accurate delivery records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status or any issues encountered.
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as loading, unloading, and organising stock when necessary.
- Perform vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, with a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations.
- Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling packages or goods.
- Knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations relevant to commercial driving.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of service.
