Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join our dynamic care team. In this vital role, you will lead and supervise support staff to deliver exceptional care within a care home setting. Your leadership will ensure that residents receive personalized, respectful, and high-quality support aligned with their individual care plans. Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor support workers to ensure the delivery of compassionate, person-centered care.
- Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating individual care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
- Support residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, medication management, and social engagement.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and care standards at all times.
- Foster effective communication within the team and with residents’ families to promote transparency and trust.
- Contribute to the training and development of team members, encouraging best practices and continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate documentation using IT systems for care records, incident reports, and shift handovers.
- Drive a positive team environment by demonstrating leadership qualities such as motivation, empathy, and proactive problem-solving.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a care home or senior care environment is essential.
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare or social care setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with residents, families, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Proven ability to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Valid driving license preferred for supporting residents’ outings or appointments.
- Familiarity with IT systems used for record keeping and reporting in healthcare settings.
