Duties
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and organizing ingredients to support chefs and kitchen staff
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans promptly and efficiently
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned, stored properly, and maintained in good working order
- Support the setup and breakdown of service stations before and after meal periods
- Help manage stock levels by organizing storage areas and notifying supervisors of supply needs
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to uphold hygiene standards across the kitchen environment
- Support serving staff during busy service times by providing necessary items or assistance as directed
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is most important
- Familiarity with food preparation, cooking techniques, or culinary environments is advantageous
- Experience working in hotels or similar hospitality venues can be beneficial
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures within a kitchen setting is desirable
