Registered Veterinary Nurse Wanted Highland Health Veterinary Care – Beauly, Scottish Highlands
Are you an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse looking for a friendly, supportive and genuinely happy team to join?
Highland Health Vets is looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join our growing team in beautiful Beauly, near Inverness.
Ideally, we are looking for an RVN with around 3 years’ experience who is confident in their nursing skills, enjoys working as part of a close-knit team and, most importantly, shares our passion for providing exceptional care to our patients and clients.
Why join us?
We are incredibly proud of our team. We are a positive, kind and supportive group of people who genuinely look out for one another.
We believe that veterinary nursing should be rewarding, enjoyable and collaborative. We support each other through the busy days, celebrate the good ones and make sure everyone feels valued.
Our clients are also a huge part of what makes Highland Health Vets special. We have amazing, loyal clients who genuinely care about their pets and appreciate the time, compassion and personal service we provide.
We are an independent practice, which means we have the opportunity to provide a more personal approach to veterinary care while continuing to develop and grow as a team.
The role
As an RVN at Highland Health Vets, your role will be varied and rewarding and will include:
- Providing high-quality nursing care to our patients
- Supporting our veterinary surgeons with consultations and procedures
- Preparing patients for anaesthesia and surgery
- Monitoring anaesthetics and providing excellent post-operative care
- Inpatient care and patient monitoring
- Surgical nursing and theatre preparation
- Assisting with dental procedures and dental radiography
- Running nurse clinics and providing client education
- Supporting preventative healthcare and weight management
- Taking blood samples and carrying out laboratory work
- Catheter placement and maintaining IV therapy
- Bandaging and wound management
- Supporting emergency and urgent cases
- Providing compassionate support to clients and their pets
- Maintaining accurate clinical records
- Maintaining high standards of infection control and patient safety
- Helping with stock management and ensuring the clinical areas are clean, organised and well equipped
- Working closely with the whole team to ensure every patient receives exceptional care
We also encourage our nurses to develop their own interests and skills, and we are keen to support continued professional development and further training.
About us
Highland Health Veterinary Care is a locally owned, independent practice based in the heart of Beauly, in the Scottish Highlands.
We provide a wide range of small-animal veterinary services including general medicine, surgery, dentistry, dermatology, physiotherapy, acupuncture, nurse consultations and senior pet care. We are also an approved veterinary nurse training practice.
But above all, we are a team that cares.
We want someone who will bring kindness, enthusiasm and a positive attitude to the practice — someone who enjoys working with people as much as they enjoy caring for animals.
Who are we looking for?
Ideally, you will be:
- A UK Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
- Ideally with around 3 years' clinical experience
- Confident working independently while knowing when to ask for support
- Passionate about patient and client care
- Calm, organised and compassionate
- A good communicator
- Someone who enjoys being part of a team
- Keen to continue learning and developing
- Positive, approachable and willing to get involved
- Someone who genuinely wants to make a difference to the patients, clients and team around them
Most importantly, we are looking for the right person, not just the right CV.
If you are an RVN who wants to work somewhere that values you, supports you, listens to you and genuinely cares about your wellbeing, we would love to hear from you.
