Front of House Manager
The Two Sawyers in Pett, is a family run freehouse located on the outskirts of Hastings serving excellent food and drink.
The Two Sawyers has been awarded Open table Diners' choice award for 2025 for one of the best places to eat in East Sussex.
We are currently seeking an energetic and experienced Front of House Manager to join our busy, popular pub.
Responsibilities:
Hands on approach to the running of the breakfast, lunch and dinner services and to look after all front of house operations, including the bar, restaurant, garden during the summer months, maintaining the cellar and bed and breakfast rooms.
Take full responsibility and ownership of the front of house operations.
Train staff to serve food and drink in a professional, friendly manor.
Assist guests in selecting food and beverages by presenting menu; suggesting courses; explaining the chef's specials; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions.
Being a responsible key holder.
Provide all customers with a personal and friendly service.
Motivate and lead the team.
Greet customers, take orders and serve food and drink in a timely and friendly manner.
Maintain a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
To be a skilled communicator with excellent problem-solving, observation, and interpersonal skills.
Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and cashing up procedures.
Placing orders for stock to maintain the correct stock levels.
Ensuring all deliveries are checked and stored promptly and correctly.
Collaborate with the kitchen team and other members of the front of house team to ensure that all orders are prepared and delivered correctly.
Follow all safety and hygiene standards, including proper food handling and cleaning procedures.
Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Front of House Manager in a busy pub or restaurant environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
Have a driving license or live close by.
Have cellar experience.

Hours: Minimum of 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
Must provide 2 references.
Pay: £15.50 per hour plus tips.
