Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Millboard Decking Installer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing high-quality decking solutions, ensuring durability, safety, and aesthetic appeal. Responsibilities
- Measure and prepare sites for decking installation in accordance with project specifications and schematics
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and efficiently during installation processes
- Cut, shape, and assemble Millboard decking panels to fit designated areas accurately
- Ensure proper fixing of decking boards using appropriate fasteners and techniques
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects within specified timeframes
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Conduct quality checks throughout the installation process to ensure standards are met
- Assist with related tasks such as site preparation, minor repairs, or adjustments as required
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction-related roles, preferably with knowledge of roofing, carpentry, or masonry
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques used in decking installation
- Basic understanding of schematics, construction drawings, or technical plans
- Knowledge of roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical systems, plastering, or construction painting is advantageous but not essential
- Ability to interpret technical instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and safety procedures
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks including lifting heavy materials and working at heights if necessary
- Relevant certifications or training in construction trades are desirable
