This is an exciting opportunity to join Blaby District Council as an Apprentice Customer Services Advisor, where you’ll be the first point of contact for residents and help them access the services they need.
You won’t just be “learning on the job”, you’ll gain valuable experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification and developing skills for a long-term career in customer service and local government.
What you’ll be doing:

As an Apprentice Customer Services Advisor, you’ll help residents by:
- Answering telephone calls, emails and online enquiries
- Providing information and advice about council services
- Helping customers access services and complete requests
- Listening to customers concerns and helping find solutions
- Recording enquiries accurately on council systems
- Working with other departments to ensure residents receive the support they need
- Leaning how local government services operate and how they make a positive difference to the community
- Delivering excellent customer service in a professional and friendly manner
How you’ll help our residents
Every day you’ll support people with a wide range of enquiries helping them to:

Access council services quickly and easily
- Receive accurate information and guidance
- Resolve issues and service request
- Feel valued, listened to and supported
- Have a positive experience when contacting the Council

What we’re looking for:
We’re not expecting loads of experience just the right attitude:

GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above
- A genuine desire to help people
- Good communication and listening skills
- Reliability and a strong work ethic
- Basic IT skills and willingness to learn new systems
- Ability to work as part of a team
