We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Account Manager to join our team based in
Ipswich.
Unity Online provides digital marketing solutions to small and medium sized businesses.
Within the Marketing Services department, the Performance Team (SEO and PPC
specialists) delivers commercially focused strategies and campaigns, working closely with
the Client Services Team (Account Managers) to ensure client goals are perfectly executed
and always exceeded.
As part of the Client Services Team, sitting within Marketing Services, the Digital Account
Manager is responsible for setting objectives and realistic, contributing KPIs that highlight
the positive performance of marketing efforts delivered by the Performance Team. The role
requires genuine cross-channel knowledge, clear commercial thinking, and the confidence
to act as the client’s internal advocate.
Responsibilities
Client & Account Management
- Work with the Performance Team and wider Client Services Team to ensure clients’
- digital marketing strategies are implemented to brief, on time, and within budget
- Organise client meetings and set clear agendas; use meeting intelligence tools (e.g.
- Fathom) to capture accurate notes and action points, reviewing outputs for accuracy
- and following up on next steps with clients and internal teams
- Communicate proactively with clients via email and calls, ensuring same-day response to client contact
- Organise and conduct new client consultancy meetings, setting up correct client management systems
- Manage a portfolio of client accounts, balancing day-to-day servicing with strategic oversight
Strategy & Planning
- Complete digital briefing documentation for distribution to the Performance Team
- From consultancy and client brief, build a digital marketing strategy documenting the agency’s intended approach
- Set marketing objectives in collaboration with the client and servicing team that are achievable and reportable month on month
- Identify and present opportunities for additional services and increased budgets, backed by a clear ROI case
Quality Assurance & Reporting
- Quality assure campaign planning and production from the client’s perspective, ensuring the campaign answers the brief and solves the client’s problem
- Quality assure client performance reporting: confidently interpret and explain the data behind the numbers; not just present it, highlighting positive performance and investigating the cause of any negative performance
Client Education & Relationship Building
- Educate clients on the agency’s approach to onboarding, strategy, planning, production, implementation, and reporting, ensuring they feel part of the team and process
- Convey credible, working knowledge of SEO, GEO (local/Google Business Profile), PPC, paid social, organic social, and email marketing when discussing strategy and performance with clients
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a digital marketing or account management role
- Working understanding across core digital channels: SEO (on-page and technical fundamentals, local/GEO visibility), PPC (Google Ads and Bing Ads metrics, CPC, ROAS, Quality Score, budget pacing), paid social (Meta/TikTok/LinkedIn ad performance), organic social, and email marketing (automation, segmentation, benchmark engagement rates)
- Comfortable reading and explaining GA4 and campaign reporting dashboards
- Familiarity with lead generation reporting (cost per lead, lead quality vs. volume) and/or e-commerce reporting (ROAS, AOV, conversion rate, attribution), depending on client base
- Strong commercial awareness, able to identify upsell opportunities and build a simple ROI case
- Confident, clear communicator able to translate data into a client-facing narrative
- Experience with CRM/project management tools (e.g. Monday.com) or the ability to pick up new systems quickly
- Calm, solutions-focused approach to handling client escalations, complaints, or risk situations
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage a varied caseload of client accounts simultaneously
