Job Purpose:
Working within a team covering a rotating shift system, responsible for maintenance in support of production requirements, covering breakdowns and root cause corrective action, responsible for all aspects of plant maintenance including statutory testing of fire safety systems.
Key responsibilities:
Support the maintenance department in providing a safe reliable plant and equipment that meets the business needs and complies with statutory and safety legislation and best practices
Reacting to breakdowns mechanical and electrical
Keeping accurate records of activities and stores requisitions
Completing planned maintenance activities and installations
Supporting business projects when required
Attending meetings when required

Education/Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to read detailed electrical circuit dwgs,
Analytical and diagnostic PLC skills, ability to read and write PLC programs, Siemens, Allen Brady, etc
AC and DC drives knowledge, diagnostic and configuration skills. Eurotherm, Siemens, etc
Safety controls knowledge and experience such as Pilz safety systems
Electrical wiring safety experience and knowledge
Ability to work on their own, within teams, work with contractors and occasional supervision of contractors
Apprentice trained and fully endorsed electrical engineer, minimum BTEC ONC/D in Electrical engineering
Proven post electrical apprenticeship experience with hands on mechanical skills such as working with hydraulics/pneumatics is essential
Electrical wiring Regs certification.
The successful candidate will be able to communicate both verbally and written effectively between shifts and departments.
The ideal candidate should be apprentice trained and qualified preferably to HNC or C & G Tech Pt 2/ONC level, with several years experience of web process industry, manufacturing paper, textiles or plastics products.
Experience and knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques, electronic instrumentation, PLC’s and variable A.C /D.C drives as well as conventional electrical and pneumatic control, is required.
