Overview
We are an established care provider with extensive experience in delivering high-quality support services to vulnerable individuals. We are now expanding into children's residential care and are seeking an experienced, passionate and ambitious Registered Manager to lead the registration, development and operation of a new Ofsted-regulated Children's Home.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager who wishes to play a key role in establishing a new service from inception and shaping a culture of excellence, safety and positive outcomes for children and young people.
Duties
The Registered Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing all operational systems required for the effective management of the home. This includes recruitment, staff supervision, safeguarding systems, quality assurance processes, risk management, care planning and regulatory compliance.
The postholder will lead the Ofsted registration process and maintain full compliance with all statutory requirements.
The Registered Manager will ensure children receive individualised, trauma-informed care that promotes their welfare, development, education, health and independence.
The successful candidate will recruit, lead, develop and motivate a skilled residential childcare team, ensuring all staff receive regular supervision, appraisal and training.
The postholder will maintain positive working relationships with local authorities, social workers, education providers, healthcare professionals, families and other stakeholders.
The Registered Manager will oversee safeguarding investigations, complaints, incidents and serious events, ensuring all notifications are submitted appropriately and within required timescales.
The role includes responsibility for occupancy management, financial performance, staffing budgets and resource allocation.
The Registered Manager will ensure that all records are maintained to a high standard and that the home continuously improves through effective quality assurance and service development.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
The Registered Manager is responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people.
They must ensure all safeguarding concerns are managed appropriately, reported promptly and investigated thoroughly in accordance with statutory guidance and organisational procedures.

Essential Qualifications
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
OR
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare with commitment and ability to complete Level 5 within required timescales.
Essential Experience
Minimum two years' management experience within a Children's Residential Home within the last five years.
Experience of safeguarding children and managing complex behaviours.
Experience of staff supervision, recruitment and performance management.
Experience of working with Ofsted regulations and inspections.
Experience of developing care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies.
Experience of managing budgets and resources.
Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care practices.
