An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established specialist contractor delivering high-quality interior fit-out, refurbishment and specialist construction projects across the UK.
With a strong pipeline of secured work and an excellent reputation for delivering projects across the commercial, retail, hospitality, leisure, education and public sectors, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects from pre-construction through to final account within a collaborative and supportive commercial team.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple fit-out and refurbishment projects, ensuring they are delivered profitably while maintaining excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors and the wider project team.
This is a varied role that will see you working closely with Project Managers and site teams throughout every stage of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial performance of projects from contract award through to final account.
- Prepare cost plans, budgets, forecasts and monthly commercial reports.
- Produce applications for payment, valuations and final accounts.
- Assess, price and manage project variations.
- Procure subcontract packages and negotiate subcontract agreements.
- Review and manage subcontractor accounts and payments.
- Monitor project costs, identify commercial risks and maximise opportunities.
- Provide commercial support to operational teams throughout project delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure contractual obligations are administered effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
About You
We're looking for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor with experience working for a contractor within the construction, fit-out or specialist interiors sector.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor or specialist subcontractor.
- Experience delivering commercial fit-out, refurbishment, interiors or specialist construction projects.
- Good knowledge of JCT contracts and commercial procedures.
- Strong negotiation, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
- Experience across retail, commercial, education or hospitality projects.
- Working towards or already holding professional accreditation.
