Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Mechanical Inspector to join our quality assurance team in a precision subcontract factory environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical components and assemblies meet strict quality standards and specifications. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of SHEET METALWORK AND MACHINING . The position is paid and suitable for candidates who are committed to maintaining safety, precision, and excellence in manufacturing processes.
Parts are low volume and sometimes very complex.
First Article Inspection reports will be required on some parts.
Knowledge of inspection probing machines would be a plus but not essential. Training will be provided.
Monthly Bonus scheme
Rate is negotiable based on experience, especially CMM machines.
Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical parts and assemblies using specialised measurement tools and techniques.
- Analyse mechanical components to identify defects, deviations, or non-conformities from technical drawings and specifications.
- Perform routine checks on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Document inspection results accurately and prepare detailed reports for review by the quality assurance team.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to address any quality issues identified during inspections and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations during inspection procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality and inspection efficiency.
Skills
- Proven experience in mechanical inspection or quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and measurement data accurately.
- Knowledge of HACCP principles is desirable, especially in food-related manufacturing sectors.
- Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach to inspection tasks.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple inspections efficiently.
- Effective communication skills for reporting findings clearly and collaborating with team members.

Pay: From £17.60 per hour
