Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen interest in financial administration and accounting software. The successful candidate will support the accounts department by managing various financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, and assisting with data entry tasks. Prior experience with recognised accounting platforms is advantageous, and a strong organisational skill set is essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Assist with processing accounts payable and receivable transactions efficiently and accurately
- Enter financial data into Sage accounting software.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes by reconciling accounts and preparing relevant documentation
- Maintain organised records of invoices, receipts, and other financial documents
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure timely processing of payments and billing cycles
- Assist in preparing reports related to financial activities as required
- Support audit preparations by providing necessary documentation and data entries
- Perform general administrative duties related to finance functions to ensure smooth operations
- You must also be prepared to help the sales team in booking on work when the phones are busy.
Skills
- Proven experience with Sage accounting software.
- Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
- Familiarity with accounts payable processes and financial services industry standards
- Proficiency in using accounting platforms like Sage or similar systems
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to work independently whilst also being a collaborative team player
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively within the finance department and external stakeholders
