Overview
We’re on the lookout for a passionate and energetic Real Ale Pub Manager to lead our vibrant pub and fish & chip shop in Old Leigh. This role is all about creating a welcoming atmosphere where craft beer lovers can enjoy a fantastic selection of real ales, complemented by great fish & chips and exceptional service. You’ll be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring that every visitor leaves with a smile.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the pub and kitchen team to deliver outstanding customer service and ensure smooth daily operations.
- Oversee the selection, storage, and pouring of real ales, maintaining quality standards and freshness.
- Manage food preparation and cooking in the kitchen and on the ice cream windows, ensuring menu items meet high quality and safety standards.
- Coordinate staff schedules, delegate tasks, and motivate team members to achieve high performance levels.
- Maintain cleanliness, food safety compliance, and health regulations across all areas of the pub.
- Curate an inviting environment by managing bar stock levels, ordering supplies, and handling inventory efficiently.
- Engage with guests to promote specials, events, and new beer offerings while fostering a friendly atmosphere.
Requirements
- Proven supervising or team management experience within hospitality or pub environments.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations—experience is highly valued.
- Knowledge of real ale production, serving techniques, and barista skills are a plus.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and health regulations to ensure compliance at all times.
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and develop staff effectively.
- Experience in restaurant, pub or hotel settings with an understanding of hospitality best practices.
- Good communication skills to interact confidently with guests and team members alike.
