Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled and flexible All-Rounder Chef & Baker to join our team, working across our open-kitchen tearooms in Burford and Stow-on-the-Wold.
This is a varied role combining chef shifts, bakery production, cake preparation, and support with cake decorating classes. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a busy customer-facing environment, take pride in producing high-quality food, and be a positive, reliable member of the team.
Key Responsibilities
Chef Duties – Tearooms
- Cover chef shifts across our Burford and Stow-on-the-Wold tearooms.
- Prepare and cook a range of savoury dishes, light meals, and seasonal menu items.
- Work in an open kitchen environment and assist with customer orders when required.
- Maintain excellent standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and cleanliness.
- Support the wider team to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
Baking & Cake Production
- Bake cakes and sweet treats for our tearooms.
- Complete dedicated cake preparation days, including baking, preparation, portioning, and freezing.
- Ensure products are correctly labelled, stored, and rotated.
- Follow recipes and production methods to maintain consistency and quality.
- Assist with stock control and preparation planning.
Cake Decorating Classes
- Assist with cake decorating classes and workshops when required.
- Help prepare ingredients, equipment, and workspaces.
- Support customers during classes and help create an enjoyable experience.
Working Pattern
- Full-time position: 5 days per week.
- Normal working hours with shifts varying between 7:45am and 6:00pm.
- Shifts are approximately 8 hours and will include a mixture of tearoom chef shifts, bakery production days, and class support as required.
- Flexibility is required to support the needs of the business.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a chef, baker, or in a similar food production role.
- Strong baking skills and experience producing cakes and sweet products.
- Comfortable working in a customer-facing, open-kitchen environment.
- Able to work independently while being a strong team player.
- Good organisation, attention to detail, and time management skills.
- Flexible approach with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Essential Requirements
- Full driving licence and access to own transport is essential as the role involves working between Burford and Stow-on-the-Wold.

Pay: £14.40-£15.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
