Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for a Support & Progression Officer to join our Park End Road team based in Romford, Havering.
About us
We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037.
Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 young people each year.
The Service
Park End Road is an OFSTED-regulated supported accommodation service and the first stage of CP Havering's internal pathway. We support vulnerable Looked After Children (LAC) aged 16–17 (remaining with us until the age of 18), providing medium to high levels of support within a safe, psychologically informed environment.
Our team works closely with young people to build independence, resilience, confidence, and essential life skills while supporting their emotional wellbeing, education, and future aspirations. Every interaction is an opportunity to help them achieve positive outcomes.
Working at Park End Road is both rewarding and impactful. As part of our dedicated team, you will play a key role in preparing young people for a successful transition into adulthood and the next stage of their journey within CP Havering's pathway.
Applicants for this role will be expected to work on a rota, which includes early and late shifts as well as weekends and bank holidays.
In this role you will:
- Work face to face with young people and support them to achieve their goals and independence
- Work independently and as part of a team to ensure the highest possible standards of accommodation

- Make internal and external referrals to a wide range of statutory and voluntary agencies for specialist support and Employment and Training opportunities

This role is perfect for you if you:
- Are passionate about working with young people
- Have experience working within supported housing settings
- Are able to support YP with a range of low to medium support needs
- Can work independently, as part of a team, and alongside a range of external partners.
