At Allison Homes, we create places where people feel they truly belong. As a growing, values-led housebuilder, we’re proud to build high-quality, sustainable homes - and to do it with kindness, trust and teamwork at the heart of everything we do.
Our growth creates new opportunities – for careers, for leadership and for people who want to help shape a business with purpose.
We’re now looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Central region, supporting residential developments from site start through to completion and playing a key role in delivering commercial success.
About the role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you’ll take ownership of the commercial management of your sites, working closely with site, technical and commercial colleagues to ensure developments are delivered efficiently, responsibly and to the highest standards. You will be working on multi tenure developments of between 80 and 500 new homes.
You’ll be involved in:
- Managing and forecasting build costs across residential developments
- Procuring subcontractors and managing valuations, payments and variations
- Preparing site start budgets and contributing to design cost control
- Maintaining strong budgetary control and managing risk and contingency
- Supporting site teams with commercial insight and challenge
- Producing clear commercial reports and attending project and team meetings
This is a role where you’ll see the full picture - from early-stage planning through to final account - and where your input genuinely matters.
What we’re looking for
We’re keen to hear from commercially focused Quantity Surveyors who bring:
- Experience in residential housebuilding (or similar construction environments)
- Strong knowledge of QS processes, contracts and cost control
- Confidence working with subcontractors and internal stakeholders
- A methodical, organised approach with excellent attention to detail
- The ability to manage your own workload and take ownership of outcomes
- A collaborative mindset aligned to our values
A full UK driving licence is required, as travel between sites will be part of the role.
What you’ll get
In return, we offer more than just a competitive salary:
- A competitive salary
- Discretionary bonus scheme
- Car allowance (with salary sacrifice car scheme option)
- 25 days holiday, increasing to 27 with service after 2 years’ service
- Pension, life assurance and income protection
- Health and wellbeing support, including EAP and cash plan options
- Staff discount on Allison Homes purchases
- A supportive, inclusive culture where people are trusted, valued and developed
