Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Plumber / Pipefitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of plumbing systems and pipefitting techniques within the large scale residential sites side of things, demonstrating the ability to work with various materials and tools. Competence in copper brazing is essential for this role — a significant portion of the pipework on our projects requires brazed joints, and applicants must be confident producing clean, secure brazed connections to a high standard. This role requires a commitment to quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards while performing installations on new build projects.
Duties
- Install plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances.
- Carry out copper brazing to a high standard as a core part of day-to-day pipework installation.
- Interpret and work from schematics and blueprints to determine layout and installation specifications.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, bending, and assembling pipes.
- Perform soldering and welding tasks as needed, including stick welding for pipe connections.
- Troubleshoot plumbing issues to identify faults and implement effective solutions.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site to ensure project completion within deadlines.
Skills
- Proven ability to braze copper pipework confidently and accurately — this is a key requirement, and candidates should be prepared to demonstrate their brazing experience.
- Proficient in using hand tools such as wrenches, pliers, and saws for plumbing tasks.
- Experience with power tools for cutting and shaping pipes is essential.
- Ability to solder pipes accurately for secure connections.
- Knowledge of welding techniques, particularly stick welding, is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of plumbing schematics for effective installation and repairs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
- Good communication skills to liaise with team members and clients effectively.
- Knowledge of screwed steel would be advantageous.
Price work is preferred but those requesting an hourly wage are encouraged to apply as well.
