Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, supporting chefs and restaurant staff to deliver excellent service. The ideal candidate will be reliable, hardworking, and eager to develop their skills within the hospitality industry. This position offers valuable experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, and customer service in a dynamic setting.
Duties
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients.
- Supporting the cleaning of kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas to maintain hygiene compliance.
- Restocking supplies and ensuring all items are stored correctly for easy access during service.
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Supporting the team during busy periods by helping with serving customers or other general duties as required.
Skills
- Experience or familiarity with food preparation and cooking processes is advantageous but not essential.
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is desirable.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to hygiene standards and safety procedures.
- Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary operations and hospitality services.
