The Role
The successful candidates will be involved in the installation of street lighting equipment and associated excavation works across a variety of projects, including:
- Housing developments
- Local Authority works
- Major highway schemes
This is a hands-on role that involves working outdoors and travelling to sites throughout the South East.
As our depot is based in Tadlow, near Royston (SG8 0EJ), applicants must be able to report to the depot each morning to collect plant, materials and equipment required for the day's works.
Candidate Requirements
- Physically fit and capable of undertaking manual installation and excavation works.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible and willing to undertake additional training where required.
- Full UK driving licence essential.
- No DR10 convictions within the last five years.
- Current CSCS Card essential.
- HGV Class 2 licence advantageous.
- HIAB certification desirable, although training can be provided.
Hours of Work
- Standard working hours: 6:00am – 4:00pm
- Hours may vary depending on site location and the nature of the works.
- Authorised overtime available.
Training & Development
Successful candidates will be enrolled onto the HEA/HERS Registration Scheme, receiving industry-recognised training to develop the skills and competencies required to undertake highway works safely and efficiently.

Experience:
- Driving: 1 year (required)
- Civils/groundwork/Highway Maintenance: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- CSCS Card (required)
- IPAF Mobile elevated work platform certificate (preferred)
- LGV/HGV Licence (preferred)
- Allmi Hiab Crane Cerificate (preferred)
