As a Customs & Transport Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day administration of both transport operations and customs activities. Working closely with drivers, customers, internal colleagues and external agencies, you will help ensure the efficient movement of goods while maintaining accurate records and compliance with customs requirements.
This is a varied and rewarding role that requires excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. What This Role Involves:
-
Obtaining, reviewing and validating customer information required to support customs clearance processes, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.

Coordinating the transfer of customer, vehicle and shipment information to the Customs team within required timescales.

Monitoring the progress of customs clearances to facilitate the timely movement of customer shipments.

Arranging and managing ferry bookings following customs clearance, ensuring shipments are scheduled in line with operational requirements.

Working closely with Customer Services, Transport Operations and customs colleagues to support the smooth and efficient movement of goods.

Liaising with customers, drivers, ferry operators and other external stakeholders to resolve queries and provide timely operational updates.

Completing customs and transport administration accurately and in accordance with Company procedures and relevant legislation.

Maintaining accurate transport, customs and shipment records using Company systems.

Monitoring shipment progress and responding proactively to operational issues, delays or changes to minimise disruption.

Delivering a high standard of customer service by communicating professionally, managing expectations and resolving queries efficiently.

Building and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across the business.

Operating in line with Company policies, procedures and IT governance standards.

Contributing positively to team objectives and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Undertaking any other reasonable duties aligned to the role, as required.
What You’ll Need:
Essential

A minimum of one year's administrative experience within a fast-paced office environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
Desirable

Previous experience working within a transport, logistics or customs environment.
Experience using transport management, customs or other operational systems.
