Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated qualified Early Years Practitioner to join our team on a maternity cover basis. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality care and early childhood education to young children, fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. You will need skills that will ensure that each child's developmental needs are met through engaging activities and personalised support. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact during a crucial stage of children's growth while working within a vibrant, supportive team.
We run term time only, 8.30am-3.30pm, caring for preschool children, aged 3-5 years
Duties
- Deliver engaging and age-appropriate activities that promote learning, development, and social skills among children
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care at all times
- Observe, record, and assess each child's progress to tailor activities that support their individual needs
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents, colleagues, and management to support children's development
- Manage daily routines including meal times and transitions smoothly and efficiently
- Lead by example in implementing best practices in childcare and early childhood education
- Support the management team with planning, organizing resources, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood education setting, with relevant qualification SVQ level 7 / SNNEB / NNEB
- Knowledge of childcare regulations, health & safety standards, and safeguarding procedures
- Excellent communication skills in English to engage confidently with children, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to drive due to location

Pay: From £13.45 per hour

- Huntly AB54 7LT: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
