Why This Role Matters
There is a great deal at Thornfield to be proud of and build upon.
The home has a Good CQC rating, supported by a strong commitment to quality, compliance and resident wellbeing.
The next Home Manager will inherit a settled team and an established service with a positive culture and strong foundations.
Your role will be to build on this success; maintaining high standards of care and compliance while developing the team, strengthening stakeholder relationships and supporting further occupancy and commercial performance.
This is a leadership role for someone who recognises the responsibility that comes with taking on an established home and has the judgement, energy and ambition to lead it into its next chapter.
Your Opportunity
As Home Manager, you will have the freedom and responsibility to shape the next chapter for Thornfield.
Visible, approachable and close to the everyday life of the home, you will lead with warmth and clarity; creating an environment where residents feel truly at home and colleagues feel supported, valued and proud of the care they provide.
You will bring together care quality, people and performance: strengthening your leadership team, building a stable permanent workforce and maintaining strong oversight of compliance, occupancy and budgets. Through clear expectations, thoughtful coaching and confident decision-making, you will create a culture in which high standards become part of everyday practice.
Beyond the home, you will be a trusted presence for families and build positive relationships with healthcare professionals, commissioners, regulators and the wider Seaton community. You will also have the backing of experienced regional and central teams across Care Concern Group.
The Leader We’re Looking For
You are an experienced care home leader who understands that an exceptional home is built through its culture, its people and the experience of every resident.
Your background will include leading within residential and dementia care, developing capable teams and achieving strong regulatory outcomes. You will be commercially aware and comfortable managing occupancy, budgets and resources, without ever losing sight of the people behind the numbers.
Resilient, engaging and solution-focused, you know how to provide clear direction while remaining approachable and supportive. You build trust, manage change confidently and bring people with you; always keeping residents’ wellbeing, dignity and choices at the heart of every decision.
Experience of managing a home of a similar size and complexity would be advantageous, but it is your leadership, judgement and genuine passion for outstanding care that will set you apart.
Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification is essential.
Above all, you'll be a visible, supportive, authentic and accountable leader who can engage an established team, maintain high expectations and continue the positive journey Thornfield is on.
