Duties:
- Safely and efficiently operate a delivery van to transport and install appliances to customers and take away their old ones.
- Load and unload appliances and ensure they are securely stored in the vehicle
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries
- Communicate with customers to confirm delivery details and address any concerns or issues
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including receipts and signatures
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role preferred
- Ability to lift heavy appliances as a team and perform physical tasks as required. (Some appliances to be lifted in a team of two can be 60-80kg, American style fridge freezers can be heavier but more team members would be available)
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers in a professional manner
- Familiarity with local roads and routes for efficient navigation
- Strong time management skills to ensure timely deliveries
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- On-job training on how to install appliances is offered
Skills:
- Warehouse experience for loading and unloading packages
- Commercial driving experience preferred
- Proficient driving skills to operate a delivery van safely
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and address their needs or concerns
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting and carrying packages
