About the Role
We are seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Technician to join our Snacks Division at our manufacturing site in Harwich. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional to play a key role in maintaining food safety, quality, and compliance standards across our snack production operations.
The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Technical, and Operations teams to ensure products consistently meet customer, legal, and company quality requirements.
Due to an immediate business requirement, we are looking for candidates who are available to start as soon as possible, ideally within the next two weeks.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine quality checks throughout the manufacturing process.
- Monitor product quality against agreed specifications and standards.
- Conduct line inspections and verify compliance with food safety procedures.
- Complete quality documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Investigate quality issues and support corrective actions where required.
- Ensure adherence to HACCP, GMP, hygiene, and food safety standards.
- Support internal audits and customer requirements as necessary.
- Assist in maintaining site quality systems and records.
- Work collaboratively with production teams to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Escalate any quality or food safety concerns promptly.
Skills & Experience - Essential
- Previous Quality Assurance experience within a food manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
- Experience completing quality documentation and records.
- Good attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Valid right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Experience working within snacks, ambient food products, or FMCG manufacturing.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety management systems.
- Food Safety or HACCP qualifications.
Additional Requirements
- Candidates must be able to reliably commute to Harwich or be willing to relocate prior to commencing employment.
- Candidates must have the unrestricted right to work in the UK.
- Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Due to the urgent nature of this requirement, preference may be given to candidates who can start immediately or within two weeks.
