Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Assistant Manager to join our team and drive excellence across pub operations. Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily pub operations, including sales, inventory, and customer service functions
- Supervise and motivate team members to achieve sales targets and provide outstanding service
- Support recruitment, on boarding, training, and performance evaluations for staff
- Oversee administrative tasks such as scheduling, stock replenishment, and record keeping
- Handle customer inquiries with professionalism using excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Collaborate with management to develop sales strategies and promotional activities that boost revenue
- Maintain a well-organised pub environment through strong organisational and time management skills
- Monitor compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and operational procedures
- Lead by example in demonstrating leadership qualities, supervising staff effectively, and fostering a positive team atmosphere
Experience
- Working behind the bar, experience and knowledge around beer, wine, spirits, cocktails and coffee.
- Providing table service in a restaurant-like setting.
- Previous management or supervisory experience in a pub or a related field is highly preferred
- Proven track record of team management and motivating staff to meet goals
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
- Experience in back-of-house systems relating to stock
- Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Administrative experience including scheduling, reporting, and record maintenance is beneficial
- Familiarity with phone etiquette and customer service best practices is essential
