Senior Night Care Supervisor – Job Description
Location: The BancroftPosition: Senior Night Care SupervisorHours: 9.5-hour night shifts, 10:00pm – 7:30am, including every other weekend

Role Purpose
To lead and deliver high-quality care throughout the night, ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and comfort of all residents. The successful candidate will support and supervise the night care team while maintaining excellent standards of care and professionalism.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality person-centred care to residents in accordance with individual care plans.
- Support, mentor, and act as a role model to care staff working on night shifts.
- Ensure effective allocation of staff duties, taking residents’ dependency levels into consideration.
- Record observations and complete accurate night reports using the digital care planning system.
- Update care plans and report any changes in residents’ physical or emotional wellbeing.
- Administer medication safely and accurately in line with medication policies and procedures.
- Monitor medication stock levels and reorder medication when stock levels are low, ensuring at least one week’s supply remains.
- Maintain positive relationships with residents, relatives, and healthcare professionals.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations during the night and maintain effective communication with external professionals where required.
- Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and homely environment for residents.
- Participate in weekend and bank holiday working as required.
- Take part in the on-call rota where necessary.
- Assist in arranging sickness cover by contacting staff and escalating concerns to the on-call manager if cover cannot be secured.
- Support investigations, safeguarding procedures, and incident reporting where required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, CQC standards, and health and safety regulations.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Previous experience working within a care home environment.
- Good standard of English and Maths.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure.
- Experience administering medication and using digital care planning systems.
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care.
- Experience in a senior care or supervisory role.
- Experience supporting people living with dementia.

Pay: £13.00-£13.20 per hour
