Organisation Overview:
Hybu Cig Cymru – Meat Promotion Wales (HCC) is the strategic body responsible for the development, promotion and marketing of Welsh red meat. Its mission is to support the development of a profitable, efficient, sustainable and innovative Welsh red meat industry, which responds competitively to ever changing market trends.
Post Overview:
Primarily outward- facing, the main imperatives for the post will be to
- The job holder will support in creating a business intelligence hub as a platform
to share data and insights across the wider industry, providing key intelligence,
analytics and insights into world trade developments, global economic and
trading conditions and retail and consumer trends.
- Assist in interpreting critical market and industry insights into strategic priorities
in order to support and work collaboratively with the Strategy and Future Policy
team, in informing and influencing the development of new policy, identifying
new initiatives and partner organisations to enhance delivery and profitability
across the supply chain
Principal Accountabilities, Responsibilities and Key Activities:
- Support the team to identify and implement a cogent and prioritised framework
for the analysis and interpretation of consumer, retail, market and trade
intelligence to deliver critical insights to all sectors of the industry supply chain.
- Work collaboratively with the Market Intelligence Executive and the Strategy
and Future Policy Manager to monitor developments in trading landscape and
report at regular intervals with an informed assessment of future supply
patterns across the world- wide industry
- Liaise with the Market Intelligence Executive to interpret key data metrics
evidencing the industry’s performance against core organisational targets
- Liaise with the marketing and the communications and external affairs team to
share information and updates on sustainability initiatives and industry
performance.
- Support the relevant teams to regularly and critically analyse the value, reach
and impact of the unit’s market and trade intelligence reporting.
Work with the Strategy and Future Policy team to ensure that sector specific
intelligence and insights are available to enhance support and delivery.
- Use critical data and insights to inform and refine HCC and Welsh Government
policies for the sector to reflect changing market, trade and political
developments and trends.
- Contribute to consultation responses received from Governments, Agencies
etc. as required.
- Undertake any other duties as requested from time to time by the Strategy and
Future Policy team, which are commensurate with the grade of role
