To support our growing fleet and customer base, we are seeking skilled Planned Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team at multiple locations across the UK.

The Role
As a Planned Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and equipment through meticulous planning and execution of preventative maintenance activities. This role will involve conducting regular inspections, implementing preventative maintenance schedules, and addressing any issues proactively to ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
- Inspect machinery regularly to identify issues or improvement areas.
- Service Hitachi Construction Equipment on-site per schedule.
- Document inspections and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform safety checks on tools and equipment.
- Maintain machines according to the operator’s manual.
- Complete work to high standards within set timeframes.
- Follow safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
- Encourage safe practices, proper equipment use, and hazard reporting.
- Promote consistent use of PPE.
- Keep detailed maintenance records, including inspections and repairs.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports and timesheets.
- Coordinate daily with Service Controllers and Product Support Managers.
- Communicate with customers to understand and meet their needs.
- Update customers on maintenance progress and any delays.
- Stay informed on new technologies and techniques.
- Support continuous improvement within the service team.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Essential
- Previous experience servicing heavy, plant construction machinery or HGV’s.
- Proven background as a skilled service mechanic.
- Excellent reporting skills and show good attention to detail.
- Experienced in troubleshooting modern hydraulic systems and diesel engines.
- Ability to work under pressure, with the aptitude to think on your feet and resolve issues that may arise.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent IT skills required with a good ability to analyse fault code data.
Preferred
- Proven track record working on modern Hydraulic Excavators and Wheel loaders.
- Previous experience working within an OEM dealership.
- Level 3 NVQ Plant Maintenance.
- Quarry and Safety Passport Holder.
- IPAF card holder.
