Location of post: Neath Civic Centre, Neath, SA11 3QZ
Your workstyle will be a mobile hybrid worker in this role which gives you the flexibility to work from home and from a variety of Council workplaces, however you will mainly be required to be office based in line with service requirements.

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and committed Family Worker to join our Single Point of Contact (SPOC) team on a 12-month secondment.

About the Role
As a Family Worker within our busy and dynamic SPOC safeguarding team, you will provide high-quality support to children, young people and their families, working closely with social workers and a range of multi-agency partners.
The role is varied and rewarding and may include:
- Supporting the case management and safeguarding process.
- Undertaking direct work with children, young people and families.
- Taking and responding to telephone contacts.
- Transporting children and families when required.
- Maintaining accurate and timely case recordings.
- Participating in multidisciplinary meetings and discussions.
- Supporting outcome-focused planning for children and young people.
- Liaising with partner agencies to promote positive outcomes.
- Working in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, procedures and best practice guidance.
Flexibility is essential in this role, as there may be occasions where you will be required to work outside core business hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the children, young people and families you are supporting. Flexible working time arrangements, including TOIL, will be offered if this occurs.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience and/or knowledge of the Neath Port Talbot Children's Services model of practice.
- Has experience of working directly with children, young people and families.
- Can build positive relationships with children, families and partner agencies.
- Is organised, adaptable and able to work effectively within a fast-paced environment.
- Shares our commitment to strengths-based and child-centred practice.

Essential Qualifications
Applicants must hold:
- A minimum of four GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent), including English or Welsh and Mathematics.
