Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Care Home Assistant to join our team. The role involves supporting individuals in a residential care home setting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need while developing valuable skills within the residential care sector.
Duties
- Assisting clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Supporting clients with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional needs are met
- Helping clients adhere to personalised care plans tailored to their individual needs
- Providing companionship and emotional support to enhance clients’ wellbeing
- Maintaining accurate records of care provided using IT systems
- Ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for all clients
Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong interpersonal skills with a caring and empathetic approach
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and adhere to care protocols
- Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively within busy environments
- Knowledge of care home procedures or previous experience in a similar setting is advantageous but not essential
