Pay - £13.46- £15.41 based on experience
Hours - Monday to Friday - Days Regular
Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Brake Press Operator to join a busy manufacturing and fabrication environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, programming, and operating CNC press brake machinery to produce high-quality metal components in line with technical drawings and production specifications.
This role requires a strong focus on accuracy, quality control, and health & safety, with the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, programme, and operate Amada CNC press brake machinery
- Manufacture and form metal components to specification and technical drawings
- Carry out “first off” quality checks before continuing production runs
- Ensure all finished products meet required quality standards
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and job information packs
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation
- Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure equipment is kept in safe working order
- Dispose of scrap and unusable materials correctly
- Maintain a clean and organised working environment
- Work towards production targets, cycle times, and deadlines
- Follow all health & safety procedures and safe working practices
- Support colleagues and contribute positively within a team environment
- Operate hand tools and fabrication equipment where required
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience operating fabrication or CNC machinery
- Experience using Amada Presses
- Experience setting and operating press brake machines
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Good understanding of manufacturing and production processes
- Strong attention to detail with a “right first time” approach
- Good problem-solving skills
- Flexible approach to workload and production demands
- Understanding of workplace health & safety
Desirable
- Experience working with flat-bed laser machinery
- Experience using hand tools such as grinders, drills, and hammers
- Ability to complete routine production reports and documentation
- Engineering qualification or relevant manufacturing certification
- Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques
