About the role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Stock / Inventory Management Operative proficient in Sage software and knowledgeable in the purchase order process. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and tracking of inventory, while effectively managing purchase orders to maintain seamless stock, storage operations.

Stock Operations:
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming goods accurately in compliance with standard operating procedures.
- Allocate stock to the appropriate business cost centres, ensuring precise stock movement entries in the Sage system.
- Maintain accurate stock levels and conduct regular inventory checks (cycle counts).
- Ensure goods are stored safely and efficiently to optimise storage space.
- Operate stock room equipment such as pallet trucks, and scanners safely.
Sage System Management:
- Accurately input stock and purchase order data into Sage system.
- Monitor and update inventory records, ensuring accuracy in Sage.
- Generate Sage reports for stock levels, discrepancies, and purchase orders.
Purchase Order Management:
- Track purchase orders from initiation to delivery.
- Communicate with suppliers to confirm order details, delivery schedules, and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure timely receipt of ordered goods and escalate delays or issues as required.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth workflows and stock availability.
Finance Assistant Duties:
- Recording purchase invoices accurately on our finance system, ensuring authorisation processes have been followed
- Undertake online ordering for the organisation, ensuring authorisation processes have been followed
- Undertaking additional finance roles as required
- Working collaboratively with the wider Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust team to provide relevant and timely financial information.
General Duties:
- Maintain clean and organised storage environments.
- Comply with health and safety regulations to minimise risks.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
About you
- Good ability to work methodically with care and attention
- Proven experience in a stock coordination role.
- Proficiency in using Sage software for inventory and purchase order management.
- Strong understanding of the purchase order process, including tracking and reconciliation.
- Attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
- Good communication skills for liaising with suppliers and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a sometimes complex and challenging environment.
- Familiarity with other ERP systems or warehouse management software.
- Experience in a similar role.
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
