Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced waste handler using a wheeled excavator (rubber duck machine) to manage and process waste materials efficiently and safely. You need to be a reliable, hard worker with excellent time keeping. You will prefer outdoor work whatever the weather.
Duties
- Operate waste handling machinery primarily the "rubber duck" wheeled excavator with precision and care
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met
- Load, unload, and transport waste materials using heavy machinery, demonstrating strong mechanical knowledge
- Perform regular maintenance checks and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues to minimize downtime
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures diligently during daily operations, including heavy lifting techniques
- Assist in maintaining a clean work area by clearing debris and ensuring equipment is stored properly
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate complex machinery confidently
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively throughout the shift
- Prior experience in waste management or industrial machinery operation is preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail with excellent safety awareness and adherence to protocols
- Ability to follow instructions precisely and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors effectively
This is an immediate start temporary position.
